Through Other Eyes: Job Interviews in English

Aims

The Through Other Eyes video package (of which this User's Guide on the right is a part) is designed to be used either by students learning independently in Self-Access Centers, Libraries, Careers Centers etc., or as part of or supplement to a taught course. Its aim is to help tertiary students in Hong Kong develop their job interview skills in English, so that they can perform more effectively in interview situations.
In particular, the aim of the package is to help you, the user, think about how you present yourself in job interviews - to help you see yourself as others see you - to see yourself through other eyes.

Content

The video tells the story of two final-year undergraduate students, Kelvin Lam and Angela Wong, as they go through a series of job interviews, from interviews on campus to interviews and a group discussion at a company.

Just watching the video alone will not tell you anything about yourself. It's important that you relate what you see on the video to your own situation.

This is where the User's Guide comes in. The User's Guide is designed to help you focus on certain aspects of interview situations, and to stimulate group discussion or individual reflection. We strongly recommend that you use the User's Guide and the video together in order to get the maximum benefit out of the package.
