Teachers: The quality of instructors varies, but on the whole, the quality of teaching is high and most teachers are helpful. (Only in, but not outside the classroom) You cannot choose to enrol in a particular teacher's class because you only know who he/she is in the first lesson. Yet, you can swap to another class for another teacher during the 1st week of the 2nd month of the course ($50 admin fee) Few teachers give students homework, so you must work hard on your own. You cannot make fluent speaks just by attending lessons. The workbook and the exercises are always gone through during the class time. Teachers are reluctant to speak English. |

|
Methodology: "Methode de français" Use as much French as possible in instruction. Expect to hear quite a lot French in the 1st lesson at the beginner level. Not goal-oriented. No pronounciation rules are taught. To be well prepared so that you can learn easier, it's better to study pronounciation rules beforehand. (e.g. buying self-study books outside with CDs) |
