Not just sitting at your desk!

| A brief summary of what I've done so far (2.5 years) in language learning! |
It's language learning, not revising your major subjects. Sitting at your own desk does not help much.
Remember, what contributes to language learning are always:

In my experience, I think the following steps are quite useful.
1. Taking language courses
Language Center's foreign language courses are relatively cheap, yet with more number of hours. However, for higher level courses, it's inevitable to go outside, if you'd like to improve your language skills and have more chances to speak. If you have a examination-taking motive, Alliance Française and Goethe Institut are the right places to go.
2. Self-study (with self-study books plus CDs)

For the short and precise pronounciation guides there. I emphasize on correct pronounciation because a wrong pronounciation can distort what you want to say. It's a good start to become more familiar with the language. | ![]() |
3. Watching online news
Though you don't know what the reporter is saying, you pick up some words and intonation.
Once a week, to tell the advisors your progress. Ask them questions relating to the textbook and exercises.
Or just join the conversation groups.
