Title: A talking computer
Speakers: Namrata

Hi! I’m Namrata from India. I like to tell you of a small incident that it truly happened on the New Delhi Airport on the international flight zone. There was a man, he was quite fascinated by the first indigenous Indian computer put up on the New Delhi Airport. When the first computer was built, a part of it was also displayed at the international airport. Then what happened when he went to the airport, he saw at the airport that there was a unique gadget and there was a platform on the gadget and there was also a note written on the machine, insert rupee one and see the result. Now this man still had around one hour to kill before his flight was due. So he thought, why not put the one rupee coin and see what this machine does. So he stood up on the platform. On the platform, he put, inserted a one-rupee coin on the given slot in the machine and he was still standing, till a note came. Your name is Mr. (Barbesingh), your flight number is AI320. Your weight is 68kgs and you’re leaving for New York in 45 minutes. He was quite fascinated, how does this simple machine could tell him so many things without he’s having told the machine the same. So he got more curious and then he thought, "I still have time. Let me see if I can really fool around with the machine". So he picked up the suitcase and with the suitcase, he again went to the same platform where he was previously standing and inserted another one rupee coin in the machine. When he inserted the second one rupee coin in the machine, again came out the card. Your name is Mr. (Barbesingh). Your flight number is AI320. Your weight is 68kgs and you’re standing with the suitcase, a blue colored suitcase whose weight is 30kgs. He was flabbergasted. He said, "What is this? Even this machine can recognise that I’m standing with my suitcase." So he was truly flabbergasted. After that, he said, "Okay, now let me think of a way that this machine cannot find out what am I doing." So he took hold of his friend, one of his friends, and he asked him to buy him a packet of cashew nuts and asked him to drop cashew nuts one by one on the machine while he was standing on the machine with his suitcase. So he explained to his friend, that he’ll have to drop, keep dropping the cashew nuts, one by one. So he again went on the machine, took his suitcase and still inserted a one rupee coin. After he inserted a one rupee coin, (ou) out came a card. Mr. (Barbesingh), the time you have spent in fooling the machine. Your plane has already left for New York.

Thank you!
