Word Finding Made Easy
Participants will learn how to maximize the vast resource offered by current monolingual English learners' dictionaries to solve language problems. The course will also introduce and train participants to use several specialized dictionaries which target at expanding users' vocabulary, making their word choice in writing accurate and precise.

English Immersion Programme
Would you like to experience using English beyond the classroom environment? Would you like to challenge yourself to speak only English for five days?
The main objective of the English Immersion Programme is to immerse you in an English-speaking environment in Hong Kong for five continuous days to facilitate your learning and practising of the language.
The theme of the Programme is Living in Hong Kong, an international city. There will be focused teaching preparing you to interact with people from different backgrounds using English as a common language. You will also have ample chances to communicate in English in various activities on team building, confidence enhancement, cultural exchange, and language skills.
We hope you will become better accustomed to using English to express yourself, as well as to initiate and hold meaningful and interesting conversations in the social events included in the Programme.

Stories behind a Photo
Through a cross-examination of written texts and photographs, you will explore and employ effective writing strategies to express feelings and thoughts. On this course, you will also be actively involved in the creation of written works for the purposes of self-expression and social commentary.

Vitalising Your Talk
Would you like to be able to chat confidently to friends from overseas? Have you ever experienced problems expressing your thoughts and feelings in English?
The focus of this course is on empowering you to make small talk under different circumstances in everyday life. You will learn to speak with precise and dynamic English vocabulary and develop a series of topics which would be interesting to people of different cultural backgrounds.
You can further apply the skills learned as a student ambassador to welcome and entertain newly arrived exchange students in the Fall 2008.
