Application for the 2011 HKUST English Speech Contest

Contest

1. Prepared speech contest
   Participants need to give a 5-7 minute talk on one of the following topics:
• Accountability in public life, or
• The rich that are poor versus the poor that are rich
2. Unprepared speech contest
   Participants need to give a 2-minute talk on a topic given to them on the spot.

Awards

1. Prepared speech contest
   A champion, first runner-up and second runner-up will be selected on the basis of the overall performance of the prepared speech.
2. Unprepared Speech
   A champion, first runner-up and second runner-up will be selected on the basis of the overall performance of the unprepared speech.

Prizes

Prizes and certificates will be awarded to the winners.

Eligibility and Application

All undergraduate and postgraduate students may apply online.

Applicants may submit their application between 7 December 2011 12:00 am – 13 February 2012 1:00 pm online here.
